Dr. Auld earned an honours Kinesiology degree from the University of Victoria in 1995, and then studied medicine at the University of British Columbia, graduating in 1999. A family medicine residency brought Dr. Auld out to Calgary where he graduated in 2001. He has been working in the field of sport and exercise medicine for the last 15 years and is presently the head team physician for the Calgary Flames, a position he has held since the 2015-16 season.

In the past Dr. Auld has served as a team physician for 12 years with the Calgary Stampeders, Calgary Hitmen, Calgary Roughnecks and Hockey Canada’s men’s and junior programs. With Hockey Canada he has been on the staff of 7 world championship teams (World Juniors 2005, 06, 09, 14), Men’s (2004, 2007) and World Cup Champions in 2016. He also served as the team physician for Canada’s National Alpine Ski team in 2014-15 and National Men's Water Polo team in 2009-12. Dr. Auld is married with two children and is a competitive cyclist in his spare time, previously winning Canadian National Masters titles in Mountain biking and Cyclocross in 2012 and 2013.

In Addition to elite team physician coverage, Dr. Auld is a committed sport and exercise medicine physician that takes pride in helping patents remain active and healthy throughout their life. A strong belief in exercise as medicine drives his daily clinical practice. He is very proud to be a part of the talented, dedicated team at the Group23 Sports Medicine.
