Orthopaedic surgery is a medical specialty focused on the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of injuries and diseases affecting the musculoskeletal system. Our orthopaedic surgeons at Group23 Sports Medicine diagnose, treat, and prevent conditions involving bones, joints, ligaments, tendons, muscles, and nerves.
Our surgeons use surgical and non-surgical methods to address various issues such as fractures, sports injuries, and arthritis. Our goal is to help you make an informed decision and to provide specialized care by thoroughly explaining procedures, potential risks, and more. We work closely with you from the first consultation all the way to recovery.
Please note that we only accept referrals from sports medicine physicians and other orthopaedic surgeons at this time. Patients with chronic injuries referred for surgery must have gone through a thorough and supervised non-operative management program which can include but is not limited to bracing, exercise program, manual therapy treatment, and injection therapy. It would be appreciated if relevant imaging such as an MR or weight-bearing hip-to-ankle x-rays are ordered before sending the referral.
Please contact our Surgical Office Assistant, Jodi for all referrals for Dr. Martin. You can reach her by phone at 587-392-9085 or by fax at 888-600-5224.
Many orthopaedic surgeons subspecialize in specific areas: here at Group23 Sports Medicine, we are lucky to have widely recognized orthopaedic surgeons in subspecialties of trauma and sports-related procedures for the knee as well as repairs and stabilization procedures for the shoulder. We offer both surgical and non-surgical treatment options.
At your consultation, you will meet your team of specialists which includes surgical office assistants, surgical journey navigators, rehabilitation specialists, research coordinators, residents, fellows and the orthopaedic surgeon.
This team will review your medical history and relevant imaging, perform a physical assessment, and provide you with treatment options based on your goals. We may require further imaging when necessary, before discussing treatment options. Treatment can include both surgical and non-surgical. Your specialist team will help you navigate these options and answer all your questions.
Our goal is to find the least intrusive option for your recovery so surgery is considered only after all other conservative treatments have been fully explored. This may include modalities such as activity modification, bracing, injections, or physical therapy, all of which can be accessed at Group23 Sports Medicine with our sports physicians and physiotherapists.
Contact us today to speak with a specialist and discover the best treatment options tailored to your needs.
Surgery may be necessary to restore mobility or function in certain cases of musculoskeletal illness or injury. Surgery will be considered in the case where the illness/injury is of an urgent matter, where the current trajectory of the joint health is declining or after a trial of conservative management. The surgical team will seek to understand the demands of your lifestyle and your goals, to help you determine if surgery is for you.

Healthy Spine Pilates2024-04-21Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Yes, I recommend this clinic. Professional and cooperative specialists. I worked with Dr. Cameron- sport medicine Doctor during the fall 2023. He helped me with my knee injury. He was pro-active when other clinic was delaying my rehabilitation process. Thank you, Dr. Cameron and Group 23, for your excellence! Irina, @HealthySpinePilates Andreas G2024-03-31Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. They're professional, timely, and above all, great at what they all do. My only regret is that I didn't go there sooner. Gord Bryant2024-03-25Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. These folks run a first class operation. It's really one-stop shopping for people (young and old) with joint and muscle injuries and issues. In just the past 5 weeks, I have gone through medical examinations, on-the-spot imaging, the best physio I've ever experienced, meeting with knee brace experts, receiving my custom-made knee braces, and finally having fluid taken off my knee, and cortisone put in. Beyond this, there is a workable, realistic, ongoing plan in place to get me back to being able to hike and cycle like I used to. Kudos to Dr. Wong, Dr. Wasserman, Darryl Finnerty, Carla Reimer and all the friendly staff at Group 23. Christina Calder2024-02-28Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I have been a patient of doctors (ortho surgeon) through Group23 for over 5 years. I have noticed there was always a delay on appointments, but what medical care facility does not run behind sometimes? However, the phenomenal level of care I have received from all the staff from this facility makes up for it entirely. It will be a very sad day when I am no longer requiring services here.
