Miriam graduated with a Master of Science in Physiotherapy from Dalhousie University in 2011 after completing a Bachelor of Kinesiology (Honors) from Memorial University of Newfoundland in 2009. She holds her diploma in Sports Physiotherapy and is a Certified Exercise Physiologist. She has experience with Functional Dry Needling, Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA), along with a keen interest and education in Concussion recovery and vestibular rehabilitation.  

Miriam developed her love of physiotherapy after suffering injuries as an athlete in high school which prompted her path towards sports physiotherapy. She enjoys being part of a team, with sports and in a multi-disciplinary health care team. Miriam has worked in a hospital in outpatients, inpatients, home care and community travel, which allowed her to work within a larger health care team to help provide the best care for each patient. Miriam uses her manual therapy skills and exercise prescription to develop individualized care for patients of various ages and activity levels with a variety of injuries. 

Miriam has lots of experience working with various levels of hockey, volleyball, soccer, basketball, along with other sports. Miriam has been a part of the Sports medicine team for Canada Winter and Summer Games, team therapist for many years at the National Aboriginal Hockey Championships, along with attending Arctic Winter Games and Western Canada Summer Games. Most recently, Miriam worked with Team China Cross Country Ski and Nordic Combined teams.  

Miriam is originally from a small community in Newfoundland Labrador but has lived for a number of years in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories. She loves to travel and experience new places and cultures, along with staying active with volleyball and outdoor activities.
