Jason Hagen is an expert weight and lifestyle coach. Jason holds a Master of Science in Exercise and Health Physiology with a speciality in aging and metabolism from the University of Calgary, Jason works as a consultant, expert speaker and health coach. He also holds a degree in Biology and Kinesiology in Exercise and Health Physiology.
Jason has worked with the Physicians Primary Care Network and led the implementation of an innovative medically supervised weight management pilot project delivered with distance technology. This project in turn was published as The Proposal of a Collaborative Model of Care between Nurses, Physicians and, Community Based Partners for the Treatment of Obesity in the Canadian Journal of Diabetes. Additionally, He has been published in numerous scientific journals including the Journal of Gerontology and Journal of Applied Physiology.
He currently proctors physicians from the University of Calgary Cumming School of Medicine during their obesity rotation and have participated in the Objective Structured Clinical Evaluation (OSCE) for internal medicine unit to assess the competency of medical students in the area of wellness prescription.
Over the past 14 years his vast experience includes over 10,000 hours of coaching experience in the area of behaviour change and weight management. He is extremely passionate about helping people achieve their health goals. He understands that health happens. It's a consequence of our behaviours and the environments we create around us.
When Jason’s not working, you can find him in the gym, at a hockey rink with his kids, or on a lake wake surfing.
