Dr. David E. Manning

Dr. Manning is a founding partner and CEO of Group23 Sports Medicine.
In addition to his clinic work, has been a team physician with the Calgary Stampeders since 2015, and stepped into the lead physician role in 2022. He is also a team physician for the Calgary Flames since 2014 and regularly supports many olympians and national organizations, having been head physician for Canada’s National Men’s Olympic Hockey Team at the 2018 and 2022 Winter Olympics.
Dr. Manning attended medical school at the University of Calgary and completed his Sports and Exercise Medicine Fellowship at the University of Alberta in 2013. He is a member of the Canadian College of Family Physicians, holding a Certificate of Added Competence in Sports Medicine and Diploma of Sports Medicine from the Canadian Academy of Sport and Exercise Medicine. His clinical practice revolves around sport related musculoskeletal injury management and ultrasound guided injection therapy.
Dr. Manning also owns and operates a fly-fishing guiding company, Westerlea Fly-Fishing.
